The Mesa Southwest Museum has a strong emphasis on education for the youth of today, specifically students in Kindergarten through sixth grade. Online resource guides are offered for teachers planning to take their class on a museum field trip, focusing on key topics such as Hohokam and crocodiles.

Cliff Garrett Memorial Rodeo has been going on for 51 years and counting. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come watch the wild rodeo fun, but have to be employees of Arizona divisions of AiResearch/Garrett/AlliedSignal/Honeywell companies. The rodeo runs in late October and admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children, age six to twelve. The proceeds benefit Arizona charities.
